Green policies: PVQ is making every effort to be as “Green” and Eco-friendly as possible. To that end, we have adopted green hotel standards, commonly followed by most hotels.

Clean indoor air policy: no smoking. We maintain a strict NO SMOKING policy inside the building. The penalty for any smoking or evidence of smoking inside the building results in a change in the rent from what you paid to the rack rate posted inside the door of the apartment ($295/nt for a 4 BR and $195/nt/studio). Ashtrays are available outside for smoking. Please be respectful of those surrounding you.

Fresh linens and towels: unless you request otherwise, your linens and towels will be refreshed every 3 days or once during a one-week stay..

Government and Green standards for air conditioner thermostat settings: Besides being good for the environment, energy policies keep our costs low -- which means we pass these savings on to you by not raising our rates, despite rising electricity costs in Panama. We understand that while these policies are satisfactory for most guests, some guests prefer colder temperatures. If this is the case for you we offer an exceptions fee of $50 weekly for 4-bedroom apartments and $25 weekly for 2-room studios.

• When you are in your apartment: 78°F. We request you set the stat at 78°F to 76°F, but no lower. Most of our guests have found these settings to be very comfortable.

• When you leave your apartment: Please turn the thermostat up a couple degrees when you leave for quick trips or off if you will be gone more than 3 hours. Our imported high efficiency air conditioning units will cool the apartment down quickly. If you will be gone all day and want it cool when you return, call the office when returning and our staff will be happy to turn it back on before your arrival.

• Please do not open windows when the AC is on. Feel free to open the windows while the AC is off.

• Please turn off lights and ceiling fans when leaving a room.

Recycling program: Panama Vacation Quarters has recently implemented a recycling program. We are recycling glass; (any color), plastic (bottles, boxes, and bags), paper / cardboard, metal, and aluminium cans.

What is Vacations for Veterans? Panama Vacation Quarters is extremely proud to be associated with VacationsforVeterans.org, a non-profit set up to arrange free lodging for much needed R&R for Purple Heart Medal recipients of the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns. In the United States, recently wounded veterans who sign up can travel to a selected destination for a break from medical treatment, or just take a vacation with family and loved ones. It is the property owners' way of showing appreciation to our wounded heroes, and that we support them and the sacrifice they made for the United States..

How Panama Vacations Quarters helps our wounded heroes: We are donating up to 10 weeks, valued at up to $1500 each week, at no charge to VFV or wounded veterans.

How you can help a purple heart recipient: Panama Vacation Quarters is taking this program to the next level. Because we are located in Panama, many candidates cannot afford the airfare. So, look inside your heart and inside your wallet or checkbook, and make a tax-deductible donation to VFV to cover the airfare for these heroes.

VFV is a 100% volunteer organization, and 100% of donations go this cause. You can donate with a credit card or use Paypal on VFV's website or mail a check, but BE SURE TO LABEL YOUR DONATION AS "PVQ" so it goes to this specific effort. All payments are made to VFV, not Panama Vacation Quarters.
