PVQ and Panama – an all-around great experience!
“Staying at PVQ was like being at home -- only better -- because the kind and attentive staff and excellent location made it easy for me to introduce my family to my childhood home. PVQ is located within easy walking distance and all the significant Canal Zone landmarks: Administration building, Balboa Elementary and high school, The Prado, Commissary, Club House, Post Office and Balboa Union Church. It is peaceful, and an easy drive to Gavilan area and the Amador Causeway. The hotel is great – a lovely, comfortable outdoor area, with grills, covered patios and a nice pool in which we spent a lot of time – especially after long days of sightseeing. PVQ Staff was attentive and helpful -- and made our stay tremendous. Karolina arranged transportation and provided valuable assistance with regards to sightseeing options. Delia and Mari took great care of our living space, keeping it clean and orderly and well stocked with housekeeping essentials. They did our laundry for us twice and got it back to us quickly. All in all, my return home was made much easier and very pleasant by PVQ. Thanks!”

Returning home to Balboa and Ancon
"PVQ is an amazing place to stay when returning to Panama or for first time visits. It is perfect for multigenerational families like ours. The location is convenient to Albrook Mall, which is huge and has a little of everything. If you can manage flying in Air Panama or others that land at the Gelabert Airport (formerly Albrook Air Force Base), you are only minutes away from PVQ. We had a van so transportation was no problem. By taxi, all of Panama City is literally at your feet. We plan to stay at PVQ each time we visit. The staff is helpful and they work to provide and experience that can’t be beat! For us, the best parts are location, availability of apartments with kitchens -- and the economical price. We only had a long weekend this time, but look forward to a week or more time next time.”

Comfortable, clean, spacious apartments
“Our stay here was very comfortable. We appreciated the travel advice and help with making reservation that Karolina did. It was great to have a cook for couple of days. The location is very convenient for both Old Panama and making trips to Gamboa and El Valle. We used the barbeque area a couple of times and found it clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable.”

Quiet, comfortable and relaxing
“PVQ was as described on the website. It was very clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. We fed monkeys in the backyard and enjoyed the pool and gazebo. We used the grill to cook a meal of fish caught on a day of fishing on the canal. The location on Ancon Hill is beautiful and we enjoyed the walk up the hill in the morning. It was easy to catch a cab to other parts of the city. We saw lots of birds in the yard as well as the monkeys, cats and the agouti. Thanks PVQ for a great vacation.”

Visiting the place of my birth after 62 years
“I was 3 months old when my family left Panamá. It’s been a dream to see where I was born.
I chose PVQ from reading information online. I wanted a kitchen. The owner Bob Medinger, was very accommodating when we had to cancel last year at the last minute.
Karolina was good at communication by e-mail. Delia and Marixenia kept the rooms very clean. Joaquin was a master at calling the monkeys.
The area is beautiful and quiet. The backyard is full of flowers – and the pool is really refreshing on hot days.”

Relaxing!! We are looking to relocate to Panamá!
We are so overwhelmed with this location it proved to be everything it is advertised to be, thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven and your wonderful staff that care for it. We felt as if we were “home”. Never felt uncomfortable or stressed. This location is a “gem.” We are hoping to come back in September but definably again in February 2013.
It is so easy to travel from here to all of the Panama City attractions. Francisco is a wonderful, trusty, worthy driver -- so smart and speaks very good English!”

“We enjoyed our stay at PVQ very much indeed! The apartment we rented was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The outside area had a grill, a patio, and a pool close by to cool off in after spending our day exploring Panama City and its surroundings. We used cab drivers to get around the area and there always seemed to be one close by when we either left the area or were coming back to it. The staff at PVQ was professional, friendly and efficient. Our thanks to all!”

Peace in the middle of the city
“This was a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed the walks in the area and up Ancon Hill. The backyard is beautiful with flowers and trees. We had many BBQs and swam every day. The best part was feeding the monkeys. The area was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go and we could always walk to find a taxi. The service is outstanding. Karolina took the time to book a tour for us and answer questions about things to do. I recommend the booking service of airport pick up -- the drivers are awesome and there is less stress when you arrive. Also go on the Embera Village tour it was a wonderful cultural experience. We had a large group and had lots of space. Here we will stay again! The staff does a fantastic job.”

“PVQ is not your average hotel. It is a comfortable, welcoming and easy to get to. Our favorite place was the patio in the back. We sat there for hours, enjoying the breeze, the birds, the foliage, the nekes + other animals. The staff is exceptional. There is not one thing we could say where there could be any improvement- they are courteous, friendly, when asked for anything, directions, translations, clean towels, you name it, they where right there to help. “Karolina went way above + beyond to help us when our paid-for reservation for 3 rooms at Country Inn Suites in Amador miraculously “disappeared.” We were desperate to find a place to stay for 5 people for 4 nights.
